If I win the Euromillions…

If I win the Euromillions…this would probably be on my shopping list, a proper country pile less than 40 minutes from London. This rather splendid 12 bedroom home comes complete with nearly 40 acres of land, tennis court, menage and 3 cottages. I spent a whole day here and could have spent longer, its a lovely home foremost but when you need to pull out all the stops to impress 50 guests for dinner you can do so without resorting to a marquee – whether you can get rid of them at the end of the night is a different matter… £6.5m here on Rightmove

Grand Designs?

From the 14th Century Bridgewick Hall I travelled a few miles up the road to Tiptree but in so doing I travelled nearly 700 years because this one is bang up to date and recently completed – the impecabbly finished Marsh House is everything you expect an architecturally designed dream home to be. Yes its white, theres lots of glass and polished stone and every bell and whistle is built in. I want it. But as I’m not in the market I’ll generously let you get a look in…. on the market with Fine Estate Agents

Marsh House

Stunning Grade II listed building in the Colne Valley

This fantastic building which in parts dates back to the 14th century has been home to the current owners for over 30 years, and its easy to see why – its surely been an idyllic place to raise a family and to entertain both family and friends. Theres something very reassuring about a home that has stood for hundreds of years, although at times its hard not to think about the many hundreds of people that have passed through. There is certainly plenty for any keen historian to get their teeth into! If you’re interested its here on Rightmove.

Bridgewick Hall

Stunning riverside thatch packed with energy saving technology and character

A stunning Norfolk property where beautiful period detail has been seemlessly blended with the very latest in eco technology – currently on the market with Websters of Norwich. With geothermal and air source heat pumps this impressive home should be relatively economical to heat, combine this with the extensive use of reclaimed materials and you can rest assured that your carbon footprint is smaller than most normal houses let alone £2m ones… enjoy the stunning views.

A beautifully restored riverside Regency Vicarage at the heart of the Norfolk Broads

A truly stunning property inside and out, it was a pleasure to photograph this beautifully restored riverside home. The vendors have spared no expense in taking what was a total wreck (i’ve seen the before pictures!) to what must now be one of the finest waterside homes on the Norfolk Broads.

One of Norwich’s rarely seen gems – fantastic period home hidden from view on Newmarket Road

As the clocks go forward we close the book on another season of dusk shots.

I love dusk shots, but now with the golden hour (or around 10 minutes in reality) now pushed back to around 7:30pm its not really practical as people have families to feed, guests to entertain and other things to be getting on with. So I thought I’d look back at a few of my favourites from this season:

This one from marketing material for a riverside penthouse taken in September 2011:

In this one from the same shoot, I love the light trails and flashes of the departing helicopter:

 18-Calico-093-dusk

This one was taken for a large property here in Norfolk, again water and twinkly lights are an irresistible combination producing a memorable shot on an otherwise dull November day:

And of course, we can use the falling light outside to dramatic effect inside too, this one taken at a fantastic property in Porthcawl, south Wales in January:

SkerCourt-202-dusk

And finally, the last of the season, and proving it can work without water was taken a couple of weeks ago for marketing a penthouse apartment in Sunningdale:
